losichris 31-10-2007 09:14 AM

is the batley track anywhere near a trainstation carl?

James 31-10-2007 09:16 AM

Teeside sounds good, what tyres do we need? & what time does it start?

thanks

J

Hi James,
The surface is a mixture of a very high grip astro, a low grip carpet (for carpet) and a concrete floor (not much of).

So the tyre to use tends to be Yellow Minipins. But partially worn ones are faster than new, and some people (me included) choose to run staggered ribs on the front of 2wd with Pins on the rear.

Minispikes also work very well.

Basically, so long as it is yellow compound and you have more grip on the rear than the front, it'll be fast. Its a great track. See you there!

Chris

Ever thought of looking here Spencer;) http://www.batleybuggyclub.co.uk/fixtures.html

As long as it does not rain heavily on the day, meetings will go ahead. Please note earlier start time, due to shorter daylight hours now the clocks have gone back

We are having a fair bit more of the slippy floor at Teesside this time according to Garry (Gazbaz2 on here) but minipins are still the tires of choice, should be fun, my first decent race :D
