Faskolor airbrush

I've had a loan of a faskolor F1 airbrush.

It turns out to be a really nice brush, it sprays fine or wide just by removing a bezel on the tip and is really easy to purge all the gooey fastkolor paint out of it.

This was what I painted.

Will look good with white, yellow or orange wheels. I picked up a tip on cutting shells last year, a few northerners were using a dremmel with a sanding wheel. At first I scoffed at the idea but it works great!

Yeh, that is my car on my screen, she sits a lot lower than that now tho;)

How did the faskolor paint do going through the brush?
No clogging or anything? and does it still look a bit rough when you try to do fine lines?

Faskolor is always clogging my badger.

I was able to use the paint a little thicker than normal without any worry about it blocking. I did find that when doing a lot of fine lines that the paint would start to dry on the end of the needle, it would then start to splatter a little, this is rectified but dragging your finger nail over the end of the needle (which is totally exposed when in fine line setup) and then a quick flick of the brush to full blast and you away again.

I especially like the way you can just load the Faskolor bottle straight onto the airbrush.

I can't remember if it is a gravity or suction need airbrush??

Body Paint 30-05-2007 07:19 PM

I'm just using a Faskolor airbrush & Faskolor paints, but having a bit of trouble getting it to fine line. Is it just turning the end bit round or completely removing it? What air pressure are you using?

ralphee 30-05-2007 08:55 PM

Id say remove the tip flare, itll allow a finer set up possibly, and allow access to the needle tip. As for pressure i shoot faskolor at 12 to 15 psi and it works fine through my Iwata and Aztek, hope that maybe helps a little.

I remove the end piece completely.

I run at 40psi and thin the paint a little with a IPA/H2O mix about a cap full per bottle should suffice.

tyreman 30-05-2007 09:15 PM

Right now get yor arse in gear and do my new shells;) :p

Body Paint 30-05-2007 09:49 PM

I have to fix the piece I broke first.. oops

niggs98 31-05-2007 08:04 AM

ipa/h2o ????? i guessed on the water bit and also did you just use the fast colour sealer to seal it all ??

Body Paint 31-05-2007 12:15 PM

isopropanol alcohol = IPA

I use halfords clear laquer, faskoat is a good sealer but a pain to spray as it's so thick.

schuwolf 31-05-2007 02:24 PM

Thanks for the reply, I'll experiment some more and remove the end completely :)
