Whats the one tom and doddy is using? |
They use the gpm racing ones I think, basically the same as the fastrax ones Darren has said.
Comes in blue or silver. |
I think most of us use the GPM ones... ebay
|
As other's have said, I use a GPM one from ebay, but only use the servo saver replacement part, the other components give the steering a lot of slop.
|
I did this GPM mod but had to get new bushings machined to use all the parts. I have very little play in the steering now. The original bushings were 0.2mm too small for the steering link. Seems to be working well now.

Mabuchi, I think this thread has been about the X - 6 steering rather than X - 5. Your part does look great, though.
The X - 5 is still our first baby... |
Sorry for the hijack of this thread, i wasn't able to find any other info of X5 alu steering bell crank.
|
does such an alloy steering help in general to reduce the slackness in the steering?
|
I'm still waiting for some parts to arrive before I can try out the alu bell crank. After that I will update on how it will help. But my concern is breakages cause the losi bell crank to me are not that strong and I wish to beef up the steering links.

Ellis Stafford designed a part for the X - 5/xx-4 steering that may solve many of your problems, the CF steering rack ES006. We still have them in stock, and I know D.M.S. has them too. It replaces the Losi drag link with a CF part held in with screws & bushings rather than ball studs, and it also changes the steering geometry a bit to help out. Big E can tell you more, although I suspect there is a long-ago thread about it. Far less expensive than milling your own stuff from aluminum and the CF may be even cooler, certainly lighter.
