Weight of one wheel and tyre?

I know this is a bit of a sad one but does anyone have a rough idea of what the max weight of one rear wheel and tyre is?

I know those awesome American tyres weigh more, so maybe someone can post:

American style tyre and rear wheel

Schumacher Minipin and rear wheel

Schumacher Minispike and rear wheel

BB Minispike and rear wheel

GRP Minispike and rear wheel

Cheers,

G

what do you want the wheels to be off

Northy 22-10-2008 01:52 PM

Just any 10th off roader really. I know that Schumacher ones are probably the lightest, so would probably be better if it was an AE or Losi wheel to get a feel for the max weight, but anything is better than nothing :)

Carl,

What insert was used for this experiment? i would hope it would ae been a standard insert across the board. also a controlled environment with constant humidity, i wouldn't want G to be mislead now and allow small things to get into his head and possibly confuse him further.

Also, what size holes were drilled in the wheels and were these new tyres and wheels or used and if so how much use had they had and is there any mud on the wheel/tyre.

Also how much glue is used per wheel?

Oh and i forgot a bit

Did you get "x" amount of the same tyre/ wheel combo, and take an average, or are these one off weights?

I hope your answers clear up any questions G may have

Really they need testing from several batches from each manufacturer to allow fair and accurate comparision bewteen and batch changes.. ;-)!!

OK lee
blue snee FIRM ALL THE TIME USE NOTHING ELSE,
4MM HOLE IN MY WHEEL UNDER THE MAX LIMIT FOR BRCA RULES
environment nominal
glue hard super glue one bead run round under capillary action
humidity 45% according to barometer

Mr Hudson table of results are as follows

a wheel = white and almost round
insert = blue ish soft and squishy
glue = hard and useless now
weighing scale = the wife's for baking (prolly no were near right kicked around the floor more than once)
tires Schumacher (no comment)
