I think I'll get the shock oil changed for TORCH and see how I feel going into the weekend. I'll leave it as full 4WD.

Will prob go 35 / 30 for TORCH, maybe 30 / 25 due to the colder weather

I'am Currently running a Cat SX LIPO with stiff chassis too :) For 2010 season really want to get Tamiya 511!!

If you are having trouble driving the Cat, use Grant's or Simon's set-up, but put the shocks on the back of the shocktower, put some lead in the car, at least 100 grams under the chassis, I am sure you will find a very easy and safe car to drive, this will help you build confidence and then set the car up more aggresive to improve your driving:thumbsup:

Got lead on it from Petit, may put the 12.5 yokes back on it as I think I prefer power on steering as I push it coming out of turns

Best set-up you'd go for at torch from what's in the set-ups?

Best set up for me is mine!!! Grant's ish set-up, shocks on rear, 115 grams of weight -ish, then tweak it for what i wanted, it may be under-steering, but a dab of brakes can help solve this, super safe to drive though.

Dont dismiss the lazer FS. Out the box its highly competitive every thing you need is there. For the clubman just change to 10 degree hubs(included in the kit)

Mike craddock has not raced ep for nearly 20 years and out qualified Ellis stafford.
So Try Mr churchs car first and see if he got the set up to save you changing.

i second the lazer FS.. an awsome car.. i raced the elec 4wd FS for the first time at petit.. and was well happy with it, was surprised on how easy it was to drive.

Iv ran lazers, cat and 501x.

I started with a zx5, but had issues with bevel gears as in my opinion cos i do crash , and i was running a fairly hot motor, i was stripping them and i noticed that the plastics were constantly stripping ( mainly gearbox housings), this was prob down to me crashing . I traded up for a 501x, and it was bomb proof and easier to drive in my opinion. Along came the worlds, and i bought the worlds kit. I ran that for 2 seasons, then bought a cat sx. The 501 drives similar to the cat, but was less twitchy, i had to turn down my servo speed on the cat to compensate.
I was happy with the cat ( phil booth car ) , but i didnt like the price of the spares. I never actually broke anything on it, however everyone around me was spending £30+ each breakage on towers, housings and wishbones and spur gears etc etc.

I sold it and bought a second hand 501x, steve kirks old car to be precise, if you get opportunity id look at a 501x or a 511.

I have gone from and X-5 to Cat SX and now the Durango DEX410 and I have felt that I have improved most with the Durango. But it is true any driver with talent should be able to take any car and drive it well as long as they know what they need from the setup of the car. I am still trying to understand what I need to change to get my lap times faster. Trouble that I have is making mistakes due to coming at jumps too fast and over jumping and doing this in electric means that your race is over as you loose so much time. It is also important to get experience at different tracks and surfaces indoors and out so as you get to know the cars reaction to different obstacles. I have noticed that some drivers can take upto a year before their setup settles down and they get very consistent that is if they stay with the car long enough!
