Default 4WD change

Currently running a Cat SX LIPO with stiff chassis and all the alloy bits etc.

Finding it hard work, so contemplating changing to a Yokomo or B44.

Any other recommendations for a club racer or stick with the Cat SX and go back to the original chassis??

I'll have a word with a friend who has one and see what happens.. Test pilot it etc.

I do like the look of the Yokomo though.

Never owned one so don't know, I would look into spares availibility and prices though as I've heard they can be expensive.

Mikey, listen mate, try one more thing before you give up, I promise it will transform this car for you, PUT THE REAR SHOCKS ON THE REAR OF THE SHOCKTOWER!!!!!
I wasn't overly happy with the Cat till I did this, for me it made the Cat the kind of car I want to drive!!!!! Trust me, have I steered you wrong yet???

The Cat was running and has been running shocks on the rear.. I have been running them reverseed, but changed to standard wishbone position and on the rear for Petit. I ran them on the front for the final as I was already bust as far as qualifying and wanted to see what it was like.. Broke the car on my best run, my fault....

I am very undecided at the mo. I love the Cat for what it is, but I'm not good enough to take it forward..

That's also how I partly feel...

Plus I have a serious amount of money tied up in it.

Ordering up a SP 8.5 at some point, going back to basics!

I ran a 7.5 in the B4 and made the mistake of a 6.5 in the Cat SX at Petit.

Could sell my Omega and have both

B44 all the way, good parts availability, cheap, tough and easy to drive (sometimes), untill Losi bring something new out But what do i know.

Indeed associated parts do seem cheap when I ordered a few bits for my B4..

Yokomo aren't that expensive are they?

Tony, maybe I should bind my radio to your car next time at TORCH?

I know I don't want a Losi XXX4 or Hotbodies D4!

I can't recommend the Hot Bodies as it doesn't seem to have a race team anymore and i fear parts may get harder to source, but it is a great car to drive. Keeps the b44's behind it sometimes

Don't forget the ZX5-FS, but parts may be harder to get like the BMAX. XX4 be good on our track too i reckon

If you come to EPR on the 7th of Feb I will let you have a go with mine, alot of people have driven it and all say how safe and easy it is to drive!!
But if you are convinced you need a change, good luck

I have thought about the ZX5, but it's further down the list.

I'd go for a car that's good at our track, but I can also take it elsewhere easily etc.

We'll see. I expect I'll run the B4 this weekend if we are racing as I'm happy with that. Just need a slower motor for other tracks. That'll change to the Cougar once it's out etc.

Would love to come up to EPR, so may have a word with the lady..

My skill can't do the Cat justice, but I do love it as a piece of machinery.

Speed Passion V3 8.5 in the Cat may help..

Without wanting to sound harsh etc, but you say you don't have the skill to take the Cat any further. So there is a very good chance that you won't be able to take any of the other 4wd's further either.
All the top cars are on a pretty level playing field, so if you have a large amount of cash invested in the Cat (which you won't get much back!) then i would stick with it for a bit longer.

oh, and go back to the original chassis with more flex and forgiveness!

I have been thinking this as when I got on best with it was with the original chassis. I do have an S1 LIPO chassis which I accidently ordered..

The old chassis has been dremeled to take Speed Passion LIPOs so should be more flexible now!

I am happy to take critism were it's due...
