may have a point there

a 5.5 in a 2wd is quite powerful all i had in my b44 was a 7.5 nice and easy to drive

Remember aswell, like I said you didn't have the usual brushless combo in there, it was more agressive being out of your b44.

you never drove my x6 before though it's setup is very different to yours, it looked like you didnt even use the brakes you just throttled it like mad, and i did change the esc punch setting to 1

A 5.5, at York, in a 2wd???

johnboy 13-05-2008 04:56 PM

i dont think the quality of schumacher tyres is in question here if you use a 5.5 in a 2wd then you will use more rear tyres .

Mike Hudson 13-05-2008 04:57 PM

you would be surprised that quite a few people run 5.5's there including the twins and i've had a 5.5L in since the beginning of the year and tyres have always lasted longer than this

johnboy 13-05-2008 04:58 PM

MADNESS fast inbetween crashes lol:p

its not been as warm in the hall before last sat night

Mike Hudson 13-05-2008 05:04 PM

as chris long said he thought the compound was slightly softer and more grippy when he was at the indoor finals, i will find out this saturday if it's any different with 4wd although tyres will wear even more in 4wd

mattym0310 13-05-2008 05:09 PM

the reason why "it didn't look like i was even using the brakes" was because I used it on two corners, one of which yes i did use the brakes, the second there was no need to as i was already driving steadily and it was not a tight corner. It looked like i was going way to fast because I was only tapping, if that, the thottle stick and yet the car moved at half throttle pace.

BB dont seem to have this problem ..

yeah i had that problem two and a half runs before it ripped apart :o:( and at 8 quid ago i expect them to last a little longer 2 and a half races suppose just one of them things

if the throttle response was anything like that i woudn't be able to drive it, the throttle curve on my transmitter is perfectly fine, if it was how you think it is, my car would proberly be upside down more than upright, it's just one of those things, i coudn't drive your car half as fast i can mine because it was set different and it takes time to get used to it

MikePimlott 13-05-2008 05:15 PM

Sorry to point out the obvious but has this problem been since the 4 gear conversion in your X6 ???

Mike Hudson 13-05-2008 05:17 PM

no as ive had the 4 gear since the beginning of the year, it's narrowed down to fact that it was a hot day, could have been the tyres, or the speedo being a tc version but it was set to 1 on punch where my usual sphere comp i have set to 2 or 3

rcluke 13-05-2008 05:31 PM

i used brand new mini pins on the 501x on saturday night at york, and the usual story first round no grip whilst bedding in then next 3 rounds and final perfect, next to no wear at all, it all goes on driving style the more agressive you are on the throttle the higher the wear rate, my opinon is the tyres are no different to what ive used before and those who no me for being the tight arse that i am, i can make them last 4/5 meetings:p

Its where the tyre rips apart it usually happens when someone is on their roof and keep the throttle nailed. That is the only time i have ever seen it happen;)
