Established in 2005, ASun Star emerged from a powerful foundation rooted in advocacy, aba therapy for autism awareness, and youth empowerment. Its origins trace back to the platform “Violence Against Children by Children,” which was initially developed within the Miss America Organization as part of a broader effort to highlight and address youth-related violence and its underlying causes. From this impactful beginning, ASun Star evolved into a structured organization dedicated to transforming the way support services are delivered to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

A pivotal moment in ASun Star’s development came during this initiative when the Executive Director introduced the R.E.A.C.T. model, which stands for Recreational Events Aiding Children’s Talents. This innovative approach was designed as an after-school program that emphasized a strengths-based perspective, focusing not on limitations but on the inherent abilities and potential of young people. The program was carefully structured to nurture multiple dimensions of youth development, including homework readiness, self-esteem, positive self-image, and academic enhancement.
