Default Old question: RC10B4 FT vs. XXXcr

Hello @ all.

I've got a little "problem" here - I'm undecided between those two cars and I know you normally suggest to buy the car which got the best support from the LHS, club or trackside.
Sadly I've got neither of those in my area and the LHS around only support RTR and no "serious" cars.

I can get both cars for the same price - can't decide on price

Also if buy one of these cars I need US Sized Tools - are the Losi ones worth the money and which do I need?

The car would be mostly used for bashing at a parking lot and the garden. - Which tyre would you suggest?

Thank you for reading this
Christian

Neither ........ Kyosho RB5, it has all the good points of the B4, all the good points of the Losi and none of the down sides of either! Handling is somewhere between the two with the B4s steering yet the Losi's stability.

By the way, Kyosho cars are all metric fasteners too..........

I have changed from the b4 to the xxx-cr and out of the two i defently preffer the cr it is more ajustable very stable it jumps like a car not a lump of rock like the b4 does the b4 does have little more steering which is nice but with a tiny bit of weigh in the front the cr has all the steering you coudl ever want. As i was saying last night the cr looks ace with a really nice paint job on where the b4 looks fat. As for losi tools they are good.

As I can't try one of these models first hand i have to rely on reviews and opinions on the internet.

Personally I think the RB5 is not quite as evolved as the cars from Losi and AE and I'm not yet capable of setting up such race level cars and therefore I only want to decide between the Losi or the B4.

Besides the Kyosho would be a little more expensive (if that counts).
Also the Lazer SP is quite a evolution and I expect something similar to happen to the RB5.

So no voice for the B4 yet...

Please give me a little more input

If your bashing then a B4 is fine, the Cr seemed a lil brittle to me. Not sure ull want a FT though, id get a team and buy spares with the savings.

You will struggle to get hold of a B4 for a month at least, there are no kits about right now

Thanks for the inputs so far.

But I think that I have to clarify so points of my first posting.

With bashing I mean using the car in a non competitive way - because of a lack of clubs and tracks.

I'm into RC on and off since the early 90s so please no RTR form me also it's not my first RC or anything - I just have no experience with either maker or model.

Also it would be great if you can give me more details on the cars I'm looking for - XXXcr or B4 FT since I never seen them I the flesh.

Where in Germany are you? You might even have a track somewhere close by...

Might actually be worth keeping in mind that the distribution rights for Losi have gone to Robitronic this year and that they are concentrating more on the RTR/Monster Truck/Petrol cars.

I drive a B4 and it is the easiest car I've ever had for maintenance, parts availability and I like the way it drives a lot. If you really are never going to race it you could also have a look at the Thunder Tiger AT10 (I think...) It's basically an Associated B3 with Metric screws. Drives fine and is strong.

I wouldn't go for the Losi because it really is becoming rare in Germany after the team basically disbanded. A lot of the guys who used to run Losi are now driving X-6's and RB5's. From what I've seen up to now the RB5 is a great car with lots of potential but a crap gearbox (compared to a B4)

PM me in German if you need any more help.

I'm aware of the change in the distribution but the partssituation for each of the competition cars is just bad.

In the LHS around you can't even get basic things like tyres and shock oil.

Also i don't know if I race it - if I could, I definitely would like to race.
Therefore I want to have that possibility.
