What's even worse, is that the talk going round is that this bump on the nose could be common this year, begining of the week I think some Italian mag was saying the new Ferrari has it to

We will get used to it. Do you remember when they introduced the "narrow" track width cars? Or the "rib" tyres? The narrow and tall rear wing? The wide front wing? F1 car h a v e to look disgusting these days it seems.

Yeah, the 'platypus' nose as it's being called is going to be pretty much unversal from what I've read over on this blog http://scarbsf1.wordpress.com/

It's all to do with the bulkhead in front of the drivers feet having to be a certain height (62 ish cm) and that the nose can be lower (55 cm). It's aerodynamics apparently!

The step from the nose to the chassis is a regulation change for 2012. It's to try and make the cars safer after the accident Webber had when he hit the back of the Lotus at Valencia in 2010. The nose now has a lower maximum height but the chassis has to stay the same.

James.

F1 was always ugly and will always be ugly.

It's the price you pay to go fast.

I thought it wasn't too bad, but on the side view picture I saw it isn't very clear as compared to the other view you posted. It reminds me of a certain car...

(Ah... who could forget this duckling... The Multipla! I just felt the urgency to post it )

...on the Caterham F1 car, I can only hope they will only run at the back of the pack, not be involved in fights or DNFs that may cause the car to be seen on international TV Or that they use some tape to make the shape more aerodynamic as a last minute mod for the first race!
