Hi,
I've found that running a slower motor in my 2wd has made me quicker as it makes me more smooth and consistent. I now feel I need a slightly faster motor to get some extra speed down the straights. Is there any reason not to go for a super fast 6.5 turn motor and use the throttle end point adjustment on the transmitter to slow it down a bit and maybe increase the pinion size to make it less punchy? I can't decide what turn motor to go for, so going for the fastest and then slowing it down seems like a good idea to me. If this works, why doesn't everyone buy the fastest motor possible and trim it back to suit the track layout? Any advice would be apreciated, thanks ![]() Jay. |

It also deoends on that Lipo cells you will use as i have 50C rating and find them to much for the 201 tamiya but just right im my 4wd. There is a 2WD motor thread running, take a look chap. In my 201 i found you could only turn the system down so much and had to play with clutch, weights and wings to get a good balance with a 8.5 motor. A 6.5 would be a slipper clutch killer.

![]() Turning it down over the transmitter leaves you with fairly bad throttle feel. Much better to go for something moderate like an 8.5T and give it a little boost over the speedo in case you realy need it than resorting to turning down a very fast motor. Honestly though, an 8.5T will be more than sufficient in 99% of all cases. |

I would say go for the faster motor and learn how to drive it fast.

I drive lrp x12 6.5 on 2wd training sessions with 100% epa. On races I run Lrp x12 8.5.

I run an Orca 7.5, for tracks with longer straights I will add some turbo timing at full throttle (Orca Vritra Pro Speedo)
