Default How long last Durga belts and diffs, when using brushless+Lipo?

I do not have yet any 1/10 scale car. Durga is right now first choice.

I plan to use 5700Kv brushless motor and 3 cell lipo (this will be purely fun car). How long last then belts and difs? What might be best replacement if something will break down?

If you are planning on running a brushless (or any reasonably powerful) motor, fit the slipper hop-up part. This will prolong the life of the belts and diffs. If you want to build it to last, fit 501X one piece outdrives and Kanzen ceramic diff balls too.

Thank you for advice! Slipper is planned already!

But still, how long the belts will last? Rear one probably not so much. How often do you change them? After every race?
Or lets ask so: What is better (stupid word! Isn't it?), shaft or belt? I like very much Durgas well sealed belt tunnel and gearing. Lazer (second choice) is having absolutely open gearing. My typical racing environment is usually quite sandy.

No need to change the belts after every meeting. I had to tighten my rear belt by one notch on the adjuster after the first meeting and it did not need any adjustment after the second meeting. Altogether the car has run at race speed for 1 hour so far.

Jimmy 'Mr oOple' Storey's Durga must be one of the hardest worked ones out there, he will have a better idea of the belt life so far I think.

Well Im unsure on your make (i will have a TRF501X next week), but I used my Kyosho Lazer belt drive for 11 years for 5 events a week, every week and only replaced one set of belts, so all depending on the belt tension being correct I cant see it wearing out quickly.

Well I prefered the single approach, go out get plastered and pull the night before a big event hehehe. I did that a lot and I do recall ending up in a hedge outside this ginger birds house (her old mans window was wide open when we had some fun in the hedge hehehe) one time, still luckily Craig Harris booked me in the next morning, and Paul Gardner enjoyed taking the mickey for the rest of the day.

Still Wales was a good place to race and was busy, we had loads of clubs, Abergavenny on Sunday, Newport on Friday, Oakdale on Wednesday, Cardiff Cobra on Sunday, and Cardiffs other club on Friday as well as well as Weston Supermare on Sunday, and the Forest on the M50 had a club on Sunday as well. There were a couple more I went to but cant remember them at the moment. Still the women were alright whilst hanging out in the bar before races hehehe

Still i had fun but now I have a lady who doesnt mind if I race so bang on!!!
