The sky blue is spot on but I'd say standard FasOrange is closer to the original colour scheme.

Possibly - I got only very limited selection of Faskolor paints as I mainly focused on Createx and RCS Graphicworx paints.

Faskolor and createx are essentially the same.
I used to have my business above a body shop and they had to paint a Gulf replica, the colours they sourced were accurate and I matched both the colours I mentioned to the spray outs they tested and the customer signed off before the job commenced which is why I recommended these specific ones. Faskolor Reference: Blue - Fassky #40012 Orange - Fasorange #40007 I'd imagine the createx will be called or numbered very similar. |

Depending on what you want to use the shell for... Fluro orange will make it easier to spot on track. I used martini based colours recently, but used fluro red for this reason. If it's purely scale, then I think Ian is spot on.

If so Ian why is Fastcolour shocking going through the gun? I've tried using a couple of fastcolour paints and compared to Createx it's shocking.

Tell me about it, it's too thick. But it is the same stuff, maybe more like the slightly thicker Autoair. I was told a long time ago by someone else, so long ago I can't remember now but I had no reason to doubt them, the colours are the same if you compare them though. Slightly different names and codes but you can splodge some out of each pot and it'll be the same colour. No excuse for it being thick and gloopy though eh ! Apparently the newer stuff is better formulated and isn't as thick ?

just thin it with 4011 thinner you get more jobs per pot if its thicker

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure there made in the same factory but are made up differently (slightly different amounts of pigments and chemicals etc)
Its not just a straight forward re-branding. Jon would be able dig a little deeper into the physics of paint making if needed i'm sure ![]() |
