I just want to make sure I am not missing them from my 501 worlds. NOne were in the box, the 501x and Worlds do not come with window masks? Not the end of the world but I think every kit should come with some masks!!

Well,I just put some masking tape down, followed the general shape of the windows on the outside of the body with a sharpie marker and then trimmed the tape with an exacto. Its not as symmetrical from side to side as I would have liked however. I bet liquid mask would indeed work better. I have never used it before, is the liquid mask translucent so that I could copy the sharpie lines on the outside of the body?

Don't know how it is with the TRF501X but Tamiya usually only supplies (ugly) window decals. I always make my own window masks as follows: just make a masking sheet by covering a sheet (on which the masking doesn't stick) with masking tape. Then draw the window shape on the masking sheet using the window decal cut from the decal sheet and cut them out. I did the same on the Durga, worked great for me! However I think the liquid masking way is a lot easier! |

I have heard that the liquid mask is quite good.
It's worth a try, and if you dont like the way the shell turns out, you can always soak it in clutch fluid and strip the paint off.

Just cut the ugly-as window decals out and stick them on the inside. Has worked reasonably well for me in the past
