There's no difference other than you get a discount for joining the BRCA through a club rather than direct.
I believe the BRCA are using it as a a way of supporting clubs as you have to be a member of the club to get the discount and the club processes the membership forms.

If you are coming by Bury on Sunday we'll sort the membership stuff out for you. Its the cheapest and best way of joining the BRCA.

I thought a full direct membership gave you a vote at the BRCA AGM where as the affilated membership, or through a club, doesn't. Only the club chairman gets a vote.

Of course if you're not planning to go to the AGM this makes no difference at all and you should save the £2 and join through a club.

I don't believe that to be the case and I was going to check but the BRCA site seems to be down!

Default BRCA membership

No difference in voting rights. Is to help clubs.
Also you get your copy of Circuit Chatter sent direct rather than sent in bulk to Club.
Some clubs make it worthwhile to join through them, others may not.

Default circuit chatter

I am not completely sure ,but i think you will find you only get circuit chatter if you download from the brca website, not in a bulk parcel.
