hi lads.
i recently went to a 22 from a xxx cr and from the time i have driven a 22, i feel let down with it slightly. ![]() i have tried always to get the 22 to jump without the chassis hiting the deck like a brick. the only feeling i have on this matter is that my xxx cr can jump better than the 22. please share your views on this. ![]() cheers..Alan ![]()

I've ran many many cars over the past few years... standard XXX CR, Atomic Carbon S2, standard B4, Atomic Carbon CR2 and the new Losi 22 in both mid and rear config.
Well last year I started with the B4 and used to think I did pretty well with it.. prefered it to the S2 that I ran before hand. However a friend of mine let me have a race with his CR2 and it blew me away... knocked a second off my fastest lap and added a full lap to my best time of that day... with a car that I had never driven before and was far from a perfect set up :-) So after that I got myself a CR2 (SE edition) and hit some of my best results. Unfortunately I had to sell up my kit at end of 2010 due to financial issues and so when looking to get a new car for the 2011's outdoor season I set my sites on the new Losi 22. Ran it in mid motor config and couldn't get a handle on it. Ran it in Rear motor config and I prefered it but it still felt unstable, snatchy and ultimately very inconsistant. So I got rid and got myself another CR2 and I havent looked back since. I've had my best ever results in my local Mid West regionional championship (in the UK) - finished 8th overall ![]() The CR2 is an awesome car to drive... very easy to drive consistantly and fast. My closest rival at my local club has stuck with the 22 and in the early days I wiped the floor with him (unusual as we're always close and very simular abiltiy - so I know it was all down to the car). However he has since upgraded to the Atomic Carbon 22 Tardis kit and it seems to have made a dramatic improvement to the car. Its clear to me now that the 22 with the Tardis conversion may be the way forward but you need deep pockets. So in short: if you wanna race at a high level on a budget... get the CR2 and you will never look back. However, if money is no issue then buy the TLR 22... buy every hop up part that losi do... and get the atomic carbon Tardis kit - and I'm sure you'll be happy with the results! ![]() |
