yay! just what we need another bj4 we clone

I like the lazer, race one most weekends outdoors, and what i like about it, apart from the way it seems to suit my driving, is the fact that it is different.

I know a winning formula is often copied, but i refuse to believe the bj4we is the configuration to have - although i am not qualified to offer an alternative.

Those photos are from the Worlds in Japan - there are a few of the photos in my worlds report also. Gil didn't have anything to do with the car at that point but maybe that's changed now and he's had the chance to put some time in on it?

Rodger will love it.

Anyone think it has ZXR origins?

I know he's developing the 4wd but what I don't know if its going to be completely new car or a modifaction of the SP.

Didn't realise those pics were from before he started working for Kyosho but my guess would be that it will be that layout, although that is only a guess!

I spent a little time looking over a ZX5 with the SP kit on at the weekend. I think it wuold be a fantastic car if the right person had one. I saw several thing on it that I would change instantly to make it much better. When I watched it around the track at York, the rear of the car looked as if it didnt like the bumps. It looked like the rear shocks were not moving. I think they are moving in the right direction but they are still about 2 years behind.

Yes, certainly, in that the name has one digit in 3 different, and the car has 4 wheels, one on each corner. Its almost a copy G, can you not see it?

It looks okay though. One thing which I notice on ZX5's (as an outsider) is how little droop they always appear to have when watching one on a track, yet when I go and look at one on the table it will have plenty of droop. Its weird, and I can't explain it, perhaps the chassis hangs out lower than I am used to seeing, but whatever it is doesn't allow it to ride bumps or jumps as well as Losi, X-factory, BJ4/B44.

The car was made by Kyosho in Japan and Gil first saw it at the worlds and he said he hadn't had chance to start working on projects like that yet - he's been doing the boring stuff. I've no doubt that by now he might well be working on it but the car in the photo is the first version to be seen in public and if it's coming then it's bound to change a bit, and hopefully with some Gil magic touches.

Default lazer zx5 sp

Hi Woody know you are talking about my lazer. Thanks for your help on sunday put sp kit on bit by bit after each round so don't think it went bad first time out. Did you see me smoke em in the final even if it was for 3 minutes. i was totally chuffed with the car in the final i had the biggest smile i have had for a long time in racing even if i did finish last. i know we all want to do well but at the end of the day its about enjoyment and having a laugh with those around you see you next week at Batley.

There is no problem with suspension movement on my SP ... Gaz Stanton keeps telling me to stiffen it up as he thinks it's moving too much!!!

The set-up will be nothing like the original car to make this work.

I had my car running laps quick enough to run a 14 lapper at Newbury at the weekend ( I think only 6 people managed to break 14) and the only reason I didn't was my driving due to making big changes every run and spending the first half of each heat getting used to it again!!

The SP is a great car, 1000% better than the BJ4WE I have sitting next to it on the bench .... at least for me anyway!
