Default Stock Blitz Wheels & Pro-line Tyres

Hi, Just wondering if anybody has experience of running Proline Tyres on stock HPI rims? wondering if the tyres seat OK onto a different make rim. Also are all the inserts interchangeable?

Thanks for your help.

Dom.

All SC tyres fit on all SC rims, so the Proline SC Tyres will fit stock HPI rims.

Regrading the inserts, SC wheels come in 2 flavors:
"Stepped", with smaller diameters on the outside - stock Slash and Blitz wheels.
"Flat", with a constant diameter (except for the small diameter on the outside tyre mounting bead) - stock Losi, associated and most aftermarket wheels.

The "flat" wheels require flat inserts and the "stepped" wheels require stepped or 2 piece inserts.

Proline SC Tyres used to include 2 piece inserts (a blue outer insert and a gray inner insert that fills the "step" in the wheel).

Recently made Proline SC Tyres include only blue outer inserts. In order to mount them on stepped wheels like the blitz's, the gray inner insert must be bought separately.

If you are buying the tyres in a local shop, check if they have the gray inner inserts. If you are ordering, you can't be sure which inserts you will get.

Avner.

True I suppose, but some are harder to fit than others so I wouldn't just dismiss it like that.

Take for example the Fastrax Bullseyes, they don't have the ring of rubber to seat into the grooves of the wheel, they just end with a flat flap of rubber which is suited to smooth groove-less rims;

Whereas stock HPI tyres have a rubber 'flange' that will seat into the grooves of the HPI wheel, and really are a stronger more reliable match;

You can glue them on stock Blitz rims just fine but make sure you sit them level to the rim and use bloody good glue as all you have holding them in is the strength of the bead of glue.
