Default Making the switch to 2.4

Right - I'm after some advice and potential costs of making the move over to 2.4 for myself and my 2 girls.

Myself and my youngest both have KO Esprit II tranny's and the eldest has a KO EX-1 Mars tranny (all fitted with rechargeable NiMh's), so I'll be looking for 2 stick sets and 1 wheel set as replacements.

The girls have a Mardave banger and an SC10 each, and I have 2 bangers, an SC10, and a B44, so will need 8 receivers all in.

Obviously I'd be looking to sell our current 3 Tx's along with 11 (KO, Futaba and Cirrus) receivers (I have 3 spares) and around 8 sets of KO crystals as a way to offset some of the cost of upgrading.

Ideally I would want Tx's which are multi model memory rather than just single model.

Any advice on makes, models and prices would be much appreciated - and of course I'm open to offers on the radio I'll be selling

Regards,
Dave.

I would personally go for the Etronix Pulse systems, I am running the FHSS Core RC version with blue receiver and I can't fault it. Fantastic for the price and has all the functions and adjustability of a top end radio. Has 10 model memory and the best bit ... Extra Receivers cost - £20

Hope this helps!

Are these the newer Etronix radios?

Reason I ask is that I have heard reports of quite a few problems with the Etronix Pulse radios. Apparently this was linked to problems with the chipsets from the earlier produced radios.

as Shaun said, the Etronix seems very good, don't have one myself but know at least 5 racers who do and they are very happy. Just make sure you get the one with the blue receiver as it's the latest model- some people had problems with the earlier one

Yes the problems that a few people had with the older versions (Grey Receiver - DSSS) have now been rectified on the newer version (Blue receiver - FHSS)

I have had both and as the other people, I had problems with connectivity on the older version, But had no problems at all with the newer version
They are brilliant radios and I can't fault them.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could put a 2.4Ghz hack module in the existing radios:

Receivers are dirt cheap for that system, too.

Certainly cheap Colmo - can't see how it would fit our KO Esprit II trannies as they have the module in the base rather than the rear?
