Hi guys,
I'm just wanting some advice about tyre choices as my club up here in Scotland is going to start running off road next year. Currently I've only got a set of yellow mini spikes and the car has a huge amount of steering and keeps traction rolling, even with the inside and outside row of pins removed. I want a few different tyre options for next year, expecially for tyres that have less grip than my mini spikes. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers, Jason

In which case Schmy mini spikes are the normal choice ..... might well be worth posting up your set-up and getting it checked over, might well be front end too soft in roll.
Never really liked my B4 but for the opposite reason! |

Have you set your ride height? If its longish damp grass it could be worth trying Ballistic buggy minispikes in the green compound because they give less sidebite and they give better drive than the schumacher minispikes because the spikes are longer. Another choice of tyre you could try is schumacher minispikes in the green compound?
hope this helps ![]() lil ben

Same! I can never get the right tires for the condition of my local track. I'm always slipping and sliding. I'm the only one that seems to have trouble, even when I try the same tires and other people running! Just bad luck I guess (and no its not my driving skill

You do really need the full spikes up here in order to get any real grip, especially when running a Trinity P98 8x2T motor.

what surface you running on ? wouldnt it be better to run a slower motor and tyre choice is down to track surface and track conditions.

Grass track,1/8th scale, the winter series required the full spike tyres just to get any forward momentum due to the mud. Now,even though the track has dried out,I find I still need them,as the surface is quite slippy, and loose in places.I'll need to get up and see this new track that you're building at Stonehaven,at least it will be shorter than 276m,and not take the better part of a minute to do a lap.

jl,have you added 35g of lead to beneath your rear shocktower or on your rear bulkhead?Use blue fronts and silver rear springs,if you aren't already doing so.Shock positions:- front outer hole top-outer hole bottom
rear middle hole top-outer hole bottom. This might help you cut down your roll. |
