Hi Guys. My fusion ESC turned up this morning. I'm about to fit it to my Mad rat, but have a couple of questions.;
1- do I solder the wires from the ESC directly to the motor, or use some sort of connector? 2- the ESC has got a Tamiya connector pre-soldered to it. Will I void my warranty if I remove this and put a decent Traxxas connector on it? Thanks in advance for any replies. |

Not sure about voiding the warranty but you should be alright if you use a connector that you cannot reverse the polarity with. But definatly junk the tamiya one as it will just melt together and you will end up cutting it off anyways.

Thanks for the reply Robbie. I decided to phone Logic RC and pose these questions. They said the same as you, and assured me it wont affect the 12 Month warranty. Heard some stories about other ESC companies not fulfilling a warranty on them if the connector is changed ( Mtroniks ). Real decent guys at Logic too, as they spent 10 minutes on the phone to me explaining the programme procedure.
So far, the Tamiya plug is holding up fine and doesn't appear to be getting hot. Only using it on 6 cell though. |

It will happen some point though :-) I managed to melt one together running a silvercan motor in a tamiya mini
![]() You will probably get a little bit more performance out of your car if you change the connector to. Every little helps ![]()

I ended up cutting the Tamiya connector off and replacing it with a Traxxas connector as i'm waiting for a Lipo to arrive.
Did a bit of research, and it appears that the Tamiya connectors are only rated to 15A. Lots of stories about them melting too, like you say. Lol |
