Arrow Please please Lipo!!!

Folks trust me ive searched n searched to the point that im now baffled....

I have a

Tamiya DF03 Dark Impact 9T 35A Brushless (slipper clutch n main shaft done)

HPi Firestorm 9T 60A Brushless

Both cars are stock gearing

Im looking to go lipo, roughly a decent 4600 nimh in good condition gives me a run time of 20 mins.

I want 3 lipo batts say 20-30 min run time each, and an appropriate charger. Plllllllleeeeeaaaseee can someone in the know with lipos offer me a suitable couple of links to the batts i need and a reasonable charger / balancer.

Thanks!

I think that most lipos will be ruled out purely as I don't believe that the square hard case most have will fit the DF03 chassis.
I may be wrong, how tight a fit are the nimh in there?

They are reasonably slack, probably 4-5 mm spare front to rear...

How about top to bottom?
From what I remember the top of the DF03 battery compartment had curved edges.
Would you be able to fit a 46.5mm wide by 24.5mm tall box shape in there?
If not then you may struggle to find a high capacity lipo shaped like a nimh stick pack.

Might be worth asking on the Tamiyaclub forum, as I guess more people will run a DF03 there, then on here. So should be able to help you.

Hi, I run these lipo's in my df03:

I had to file about 5mm on the chassis to get the connectors to fit. Besides that they fit perfect and they really good batteries. Had them for over a year now and they still 100%.

They also make a 5200mah one with slightly different measurements:

Not sure about runtime though. I ran for about 15 to 20min with the 4100. I was running a brushed system though and I was running the lipo down to 6.6v.

Hope that helps mate. I can take some pics of the car and lipo fitted and the small bit I had to file away if you want. Pretty easy to do though. Ones you put the lipo in the car you will see exactly what I mean.

Let us no how you get on.
