A bit of help required. I'm looking at getting acetone but I am involved in the printing industry and have a ready supply of ethyl acetate. Can this possibly be the same thing. I've got a suspicion the acetate is basically a much stronger version. Any help?

I'm no expert, but a quick googling seems to suggest that the acetate is actually a slightly less potent solvent, and nicer smelling than acetone.
CLICKY Both are used commonly in nail polish remover, the acetone for use direct onto natural nails, the non acetone ethyl acetate based removers are suggested for use on fake nails as it's less aggressive. I'd be tempted to try a bit of the acetate and see how it goes, if your using at work you probably have a fair knowledge of handling it anyway. ...but as I said...I'm no expert! And don't want to be held resposible for anything that might happen when playing with such chemicals! ![]()
