Sounds like a great plan, however.
There have been many before you with this idea. You will need a very big field a jcb, a roller, 1000's/m of ducting pipe and some racers that have many years of experience to help you designa track that is gonna be suitable. timing gear, which can be upto £6000.00 and then the main issue, no neighbours for miles around. A local model shop opened one not to long ago, they spent a lot of money developing the site only to have it shut down due to 1 complaint and unfortunately it only takes the 1. I would welcome a new track in Yorkshire however unless it is indoor i would have to keep my loyalties with MMRX although i would be more than happy to attend everynow and then. Do you have some land in mind or are you just gauging interest. I would consider approaching a farmer who has an unused barn (most have these days as they contract out their work.) that you could hire and build an indoor dirt track that is fully lit and available to use all year round. If you were to do that i'm sure you would soon gain a lot of new friends. Best of look with whatever you decide to do, and i look forward to seeing you down at MMRX should the rain ever stop. |

if you got a barn you could be king of rc., i no round here in the rossendale/bury area
there has been a lot of searching for such an indoor venue and it has not been easy to find one yet an indoor dirt/astro tack in a barn that that could be used all yearr by 10ths 8ths and 5ths electric or fuel . would be a very very popular venue. inthink you should go for it . big time on the timing system they are exepnsive but there are 2nd hand ones and also some cheaper infra red systems that run cheaper ,maybe a local club could lend you a system on certain days to get you going. but yeah dude go for it i will travel up for a few laps bet quite a few others would to

now thats a different ball game altogether. If you build an indoor track then i'm sure it would be a massive success.

Sounds promising.
Where abouts are you in Yorkshire ? Are you doing it to run a club as a business, ie make some cash, or just for fun ! |

Well if you have a building that you own, no landlords or farmers to boot you out just when you get going. you have just about what every person who runs a club dreams of!!!
![]() If you have a dirt floor...fantastic! all you need is a 1.5T diggerand someone who is quite sharp on it ![]() But I find there are a few rules to a great track a) car friendly so every one has a good day. b) not to many jumps, bomb holes, tabletops etc its so easy to over do it c) Make it flow if poss with some fast bits and some slow not just straight corner straight corner, d) Errrm don't just listen to fast drivers who want national standard tracks all the time, As these tracks tend not to favor the club driver in some cases (just my opinion ![]() A timeing system would be great and these days just about run a club meeting on there own, BUT there are other ways if you have a pc/laptop Drivers stand of some form, build it how ever you like just so long as it hold enough peope without falling down Insurance Join your club to the BRCA (simples) People can pit outside, as they are used to this and are set up to do so, if you are short on space don't lose track space for pitting. If you are running nitros you prob would'n't want to pit inext to the track with all the noise and fumes! but if you have enough room great As far as planning goes, we have normaly got away with the market traiders law by only being there 28days a year ( this is how car boots work I am told ![]() ![]() ![]() But all this said, if you have a bag of money and want to build the very best in the uk GO FOR IT ![]() Enough of my woffle ![]() ![]()

Yer post some photos
![]() Big NO on the sand pit sections, sand and RC cars don't realy mix. Look up the neobuggy meeting photos that jimmy has on here and also the PDA club in the club section, they have no indoor track at the min, but the photos of there old one will give you some good ideas
