Default XX4 oneway

I had a three wheel drive xx4 today, not to handy! I have found that the whole oneway bearing is rotating in the housing, thus there is no drive to that front wheel at all. I think the oneway is the one you can get from DC racing (bought the car second hand). Is this a common prob? if so can I use some stud & bearing fix etc to solve the prob or am I going to be wasting my time? The oneway has only done about four meetings from new, I know this as I knew the car before I bought it from one of our club members before he left the country....

Any help would be great

Is it a Losi one way or 3rd party? The Losi one has plastic outdrives and rings on the outsides.

clean it all up with sand paper, and make sure u put it in the right way around and super glue it, leave it over night and it should be ok, ours has run like this for over 12months in the xx4

It,s got metal outdrives with 2 sets of slots for the driveshaft pins on both outdrives, and the outdrives are very heavy duty. It's blue in colour I'm sure it's a DC one

Actually I think that's a Lesro one, not sure Dom's were ever available in Blue, could well be wrong though.

yes it sounds like my Lesro one.. Not had any problems with mine though. I was told that the one way bearings themselves should be cleaned out after 10 or so runs and a light oil put on them. I'd say clean and oil first.

I think it's a DC one as the bloke I bought it from was in contact with dom a fair bit I think, As he is the main man of another forum that Dom is on.

Superglue sounds like madness to me, use proper threadlock, or studlock which are designed to bond metal to metal

Superglue is on its own not a very strong thing. The strongest way to get a joint held with superglue is to get the glue as thin as possible between the two surfaces.

If the bearing is a very good fit it might work, but if it has spun and worn the ali then bearing lock as Dan has stated is the way to go. It also has a bit of a natural 'give', so will not 'crack' and break the joint again in a large impact.

but needs to be strong threadlock, 636 is the best ive seen for this but hard to find but worth it as even with my driving the bearing hasnt come loose

The proper stuff to use is 'bearing lock' or 'bearing fit'.

Do I feel another Nor-tech product coming on here......

I'm off into the shed tonight with a tube of stud & bearing lock.I thought this would be the best stuff for the job as what I want to to is just what the stuff says it will do on the tube.

Tmro I will be asking the best place to get the bearings from as I filled these ones with bearing lock
