Default Bolton Track?

Hi Bury members,

I see there will be meetings at the new indoor venue throughout winter at:

The Harper Green Leisure Centre
Harper Green Rd
Farnworth
Bolton
BL4 0DH

When are these meetings going to be and at what times, or will it vary?
Are these meetings just for racing or can people just come and practice?
What tyres do you need for this track?

Thanks in advance

Cheers,

At present they are on Friday nights, about once a month, from 6:30. No date set for the next one yet. Over winter we might switch to running on Sundays, depends on what people prefer really. We run outdoors on Sundays in the summer, but these Friday indoor meets have proved to be a big hit precisely because its a Friday (less family commitments normally) so it could be either.
Its a race meeting, there is no permanent track there (in a sports hall) and unlike our Sunday meets less time between rounds for you to have a play.
But it is possible to do so provided that you:
Turn up early and drive around before racing starts
Don't mind waiting whilst we run heats, just for a brief few mins between rounds,

However, for a new driver, the first meeting is free, so if you are doing that you might as well race! That way you also get marshals to put you back on your wheels when you crash (always handy!)

Tyre wise we are moving to a different hall, so ideal tyre is not yet known, but most likely you'll want either Schumacher Yellow Minispikes (which are what we use outside) or Minipins (which are the preferred indoor tyre) at the back, and stagger ribs at the front.

Default I beg to differ.

No more friday nights this year. The tennis players are back.
The Farnworth halls are booked up on Fridays so we will have to race on Sundays.
Start time would be ten or eleven, it's yet to be decided.

Watch this space.
