Just a GREAT bunch of people

I just have to say that I have been flooded with PM's with people trying to help me find a X10. I just want to let the other peopel that might be visting this site and not registering that you will have a bunch of GREAT people here to help with all kinds of problems.

Just wanted to say that cause sometimes you don't get this kind of help on other forums. I have PM'ed FUNKY like 2 weeks ago and he still has been sending me links and helpful hints to find this car.

Strobe has also PM'ed me out of nowhere just to let me know about other places to look.

Great forum guys I'm glad to be apart of this place.

I agree 100%. There is a much different and friendly attitude here, as opposed to so many mass-market US-based sites.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love the community here.

Here is a guy asking a question. Looking at his profile, the post he has made is his fifth so it's fair to say he is a newbie to the site. Does he get a reply, no he get's the gestapo deleting his message in it's entirety and two others joining in the party reading him chapter and verse when he defends himself. No reply to the question asked either. All for the bare faced cheek of posting a pic and a link...the nerve of that banzai guy!!! Nice attempt to make a new person feel welcome...Good going guys. Maybe like formula one people one some sites ought to realise that it is what they do which is what they are judged on....and not feel we are honoured to use their site.

Its the reason rcracecrap gets right up my nose, cos it's so far up it's own a**e. Apologies dudes if you like the site but I rarely go there now except for the mardave and 12th sections

My issue with RCracecrap is that the mods are all little hitlers, face to face I bet they are right cowards..... what they seem to forget is this is toy car racing, albeit at a serious level, but the nature of the hobby attracts innocent young newbies who get flamed down when they don't read rule 2.1.7b on links........ and thats what stinks.

I went over to rcracechat to see what you were talking about and get a feel for how they managed the forums. Wow.

Now, in my experience with discussion communities (since 1997), people can get out of control, and you need to police things globally and tight to keep it from getting out of control, but that place is ridiculous.

No posting of links to companies or using company names? Give me a break. People don't go to discussion communities like that to have their mouths taped shut. I was shocked to see the police nation that they have created there. It's one place I won't be registering, for sure.

I'll deal with the morons on rctech.net before tolerating that type of moderator and admin behavior.

it is not that I hate RCRACECHAT or anything it is just sometimes I feel the point is getting lost and people wrapped up in there own self importance enforcing rules.

I have read some good stuff and been given some good advice off there before now off race chat, Jim Spencer and Mark Stiles to name a few good eggs.

I can agree with the part about links to companies as they want to protect the people who pay to advertise there

As you say Apex I sometimes feel it's all getting a bit police state on there and the way things are done is piss poor. I got snotty emails for not having some small stuff in my profile correct and threats of being removed when I defended myself. Why be so heavy handed? Doughty wasnt when he was asking people to clear up their avatars on his forum. Why bother to have an opinion at all if it's going to get stamped on? Just chill guys and realise it's a hobby we want to enjoy and nothing more. If you scare us all off there will be no paying members, no paying advertisers and .....no website.

I have excperenced some real bad places too. Like I was told that someone was selling a Losi JRX-Pro on the traxxas forum. SO I followed the link and was told that I have to be a member to see that thread. SO I did I get an email back saying that my email addy has been banned. BANNED? I just regestered how come so quick? I wish I had kept the email that said " Sorry we don't liek members who use free email accounts to register. And in saying that we don't have any need for a member such as yourself who just wants to come on and say that traxxas S_cks. And the link you followed was terminated due to it not being a Traxxas product." Ok I wrote back and said how dare you assume that I was just comming on to that forum just to bash your trucks , cars, or forum, I did not even get to post so how could you assume that I was gonna Bash anything? Just so you know the Tmaxx is what got me back into RC's you know toy cars. For handling yourself the way you do and your forum I will be posting our emails publicly so peopel will know what to expect. There last email says "that is fine we are a very informative group here and will be fine with out having a trouble maker such as yourself in our community".And then they ended there email with

That was the worst email I have ever recived from an organization !


Its just nice to actually find a decent bunch of people to sit back and read the info that they post. I know that I have not posted that much (due to my job ) But none the less I always try and read and see what kind of info is brewing with people who know what the heck is going on .
