Default Maximum LiPo charge rate?

Ive recently bought a couple of 'Bionic batteries' Lipos and a 'Core' UDC 30 charger which can charge up to 5amps. Is it ok to charge the batteries at this rate? They are 7.4v, 4000mah batteries which have a max of 2c charge rate. How do you work out what the max charge rate is? Any advice would be much appreciated.

You typically charge lipos at 1c which is the mah / 1000 so charging your batteries at 1c will be 4amps. You can charge them safely at 8amps but it will decrease the life of them and your charger will not be able to either.

Very straight forward then, cheers for your help. You wouldn't happen to know if these batteries are 'BRCA' approved. Cant see any reason why they shouldn't be but cant seem to find them on any approved lists??

Assuming they're stick packs have a look on that list, if they're not on there then they're not approved!

Cheers for the list. Strange as the 5000mah version of the battery is on the list but not the 4000mah??

That'd be because the manufacturer/distributor either did not submit them, or they did and they failed.

I havn't joined any club yet. Im in South Essex so if you know of a club in this area id appreciate info about it. Im running a B4 with 10.5t stock brushless(LRP X12). I've heard theres a track nr Hainault but not sure if theres a club there. Either that or I can travel round M25 to Taplow.

If your only going to be racing at club level you do not need BRCA legal lipos, so keep your ones
