Default My New Old Losi xx4? And a few questions!

Hi All

Here is my new new car. I think it is a standard xx4 with a w/e chassis, i have included some pictures for you all to laugh at! It is a bit of a sorry state at present. My plan is to do it up, but i have loads of questions!

Does anyone know the part difference from xx4 to xx4 we, apart from chasiss and shocks? Or even better part numbers. I am struggling a bit with the 2 manuals

Would i need to upgrade all parts in one go, for example if i replace the rear hubs, would i need different rear wishbones?

The diffs, feel good and i will check the belts and give it a good clean. The front bulkhead is worn i thing as the front wishbones seem to wobble quite a bit from there.

Can i use the w/e setup sheets as a guide, assuming it is a standard xx4?

Sorry about the questions, but i am pretty excited. Wanted one of these for ages

The front tower doesnt have the webbing on the middle on your tower unlike the newer ones.
I think the original xx4 has a green front belt aswell and the WE has a blue high strength one?

Think thats about it..

Ben

I guess that's good then! I have stripped it right down. I need the middle belt, a set of bearings, the front bulk head is worn and i think i will regrease the diffs. If i was being picky i may replace the rear hubs for W/E ones as the others are a bit tatty

And the rear wishbone hangers, rater than buying the XX4 inboard toe-in kit buy the XXXcr one and cut the webbing out as it's less than half the price

Right the toe in is affected by the angle the hinge pins are at in the rear pivot block and the angle of the rear hub. The Original xx4 had a zero degree rear pivot block and 2 degree hubs (I think) So the toe in on the wheels was from the rear hubs. But on the worlds edition this was changed so the toe in was achieved by having angled hinge pins in the rear pivot block. To Change this you have two options..

With either option you will need one of these..

LOSA2112 Rear Pivot Block 0 Deg - £4.19 (From DMS Racing)

This will require the webbing being cut out so it looks like your original you will also need to drill out the screw holes to to remove the thread 3mm drill is about right but no bigger.

Ok So the first option is as follows to use the original xx4we parts which are as follows

Rear wishbones

LOSA9802 Rear Arms,Graphite XX4 - £12.69 (From DMS Racing)

Rear Hubs

LOSA2126 Rear Hub Set XX4WE - £6.49 (From DMS Racing)

The second option is to use the following losi parts which is what the team and alot of other xx4 drivers use. It slightly alters there suspension geomatery but it improves the car. They are also stronger and more importantly cheaper

Rear Wishbones

LOSA2132 REAR SUSPENSION ARMS,VLA XXXCR - £6.19 (From DMS Racing)

Rear Hub Carriers

LOSA2129 REAR HUBS, VLA XXXCR - £4.69 (From DMS Racing)

Hope this was helpful if you need any more help dont hesitate to ask.

A
