Default Interclub National !!!!!

Who would be interested in attending a one off Interclub National ???

Im sure there are plenty of clubs that would be interested in holding the meeting, winning club hold's the meeting the following year.

Format would need to be decided.

Any ideas for this please post.

I voted yes as i feel this is great chance for club drivers to feel involved, can also help some clubs out there.

Years ago there used to be the National pairs.
Plenty of options for meeting like 1 selected tyre.

I remember the pairs meetings, Rory Cull and Craig Drescher in a team, amazing!

I like the idea! not sure if I will be able to comit the time to it, but its a good idea, should bring 'clubs' together? too?

If there was a club or a pairs meeting i thing there should be a mix instead of 10 f1 drivers in a team or pairs where the combined f grading was not allowed to be less than 6 ie f1 and f5 f2 f4 and f3 f3.

Would be cool though, team racing always brings a different atmosphere

think the combined F rating is a good idea, at least then everyone will feel like they have more of a shout.

Think we have gone off track a bit, the idea was for this to be Interclub.
Basically drivers will represent a club, not sure how many drivers etc...

I actually strongly dis-agree with forcing good drivers to go with lesser drivers.
also, it allows good drivers with low grades for whatever reason to pair up with drivers with good grades, how is this 'fair' Nick G for example, multiple Euro A finalist as an F5?

we all race to be the best, what good is it to beat Neil Cragg when he is only allowed to race with one thumb?

next we will be enforcing a rule so all F1 drivers have to wire their motors up backwards and race like that

I personally would like to see the absolute best of the best allowed to pair up.

back on-track - same goes for interclub, I don't think its fair to exclude the better drivers....

I assume the drivers would have to prove some form attachment to the club? I mean Tom Y, Mat D and Stan all race at Oswestry sometimes, but they are not paid up members. Would they have to of been paid members for a minimum time? it could get complicated.

ps - Mat, you can race for Oswestry if you like

I don't think it has anything to do with being a member of a club, in the NE interclub we just joined whichever club needed a member, I think I ended up racing with the Bury club even though I'm a member of the Batley club, just depends on how many people are in each team and which teams need more drivers? Or maybe I just got that all wrong! haha

As an example:
Ten drivers per team.
Doesn't matter what F grades or which club you race for. Clubs can get whatever team they want.
Points will be awarded through grades so top f1 = 100/ F2 = 100 etc....
Best 5 drivers (points)in each class, from each team count towards the overall.
So if your team consists of 10 F1 drivers the most you can get is 490
That would mean they would all need to finish 1-5.
If you have F1,2,3,4,5 and each driver is top of each F grade your top score will be 500.
Both days scores are then added together for the British Club Champions!!!
So what do people think, if the interest is good it is something to look into!!!
Any clubs interested in hosting, also sponsors ????

That's true, Vic, it did work like that last year. However I think that was wrong. I think the point of a interclub should be to find the best club, not the best drivers. The next problem occurs when someone is a member of more than 1 club - I think that last year the hulk was a member of both Batley and York for example. Maybe the best solution would be an inter-region national (but again this falls foul of the same problem - isn't Jimmy racing in N/W this year? and there are a few "N/W" drivers doing N/E 4wd as well)
It's never going to be easy to set-up properly while "restricting" drivers to a club or region which surely must be done to make the event something different to a national event

The NE interclub has been the same for years really - if someone needs extra drivers people just go with whatever club. I've always been Teesside / Durham depending on who had a team / needed drivers even though I haven't been a member of either for years. Infact, one year I think we were Tees-ham! They often just make a team up on the day too with any "stragglers" that turn up.

With the NE its 5 4wd and 5 2wd drivers per team and each team has a driver in each heat but they work it so there's a heat list of say, 50 heats rather than having rounds so you end up racing with different people. The F5s start at the normal place with the F1s almost a lap behind and there's no limits on F1s etc per team.

Although I doubt this format would work since I'm sure there'd be more than 10 clubs competing in a National version. Unless you did a kind of knock out competition... or worked it so the heat listing spread over the entire weekend.

Who knows...!
