Hi all,
Quick question.. I recently (well last year got my Cougar 2 Works out for a clean up and to check it was still running after its retiredment from my local club some years ago )All works fine, except after getting it out again last night after another few months of sitting on the shelf I remembered that after the last strip down the gearbox has a slight high pitched twitter when running flat out on a straight that comes and goes. Nothing too bad, but still enough to bug me. After a quick google lastnight I found 1 post back from 1995 that someone mentions that it may be due to the belt tension on the box. I don't believe it's the slipper slipping and all bearings are running smoothly so to me it must be either the belt or the motor itself (which I doubt) Any thoughts? If it is the belt my question is do you guys think this noise would mean it was too tight or too loose? I'll have a look inside of it tonight, but as far as I remember it was all tensioned ok and it's not slipping. Cheers, |
