Unhappy Swansea National

I was extrememly angry, pist off and upset yesterday morning when I turned up for the Swansea round of the micros. I'd picked up Sam from London, driven to Swansea to stay overnight in a nearby hotel, then when we got to the club the next day, there we're stairs everywhere! After all that, we had to just get back in the car and drive home (Sam is a wheelchair user if you didn't already know).

I've calmed down now, but was fuming for so long with no one or thing to vent my frustration at. I could let my paranoia run riot, but that wouldn't achieve anything.

Can I please ask the powers that be, to clearly state whether a venue is wheelchair friendly or not in future. That simply means saying if there are stairs / ramps or whatever into the building. I know this currently only affects me and Sam, but I know of a few other people it could possibly affect too. If I remember, I'll also mention it at the EGM. I don't think it needs a resolution or anything, just someone to remember to mention it.

I know I could have come without Sam, and there have been a few places and times when I have. But that tends to be places that take less time to get to in the first place.

This isn't a rant, however much it might sound like, but I do need to get it off my chest.

Sarah, you really must be the most annoying person ive ever come across. Between your rants at brca approved micro lipos and now this, it really begs the question whether your all there or not. Youve been banned from uk-microrc for various reasons and your now heading the same way on oOple.

Did you not think to just ask before travelling all that way if it was wheelchair friendly???? I certainly wouldnt book a skiing holiday without checking there was snow there.

Please can a mod ban this woman before she starts wasting tonnes of forum space with her usual garbage.

I simply forgot to ask if the venue was wheelchair friendly, and no one from the club mentioned it either - just one of those things really.

Thom - Some people have a problem with me, and quite frankly, that is their problem and not mine, I don't have time to bother with those people. I was banned from Cosie's forum, because he has a personal problem with me, and quite frankly, he can stick his forum where his shark doesn't go, or maybe it does, I don't know, don't really care.

You obviously care enough to sit in front of your pc and respond to comments. You also spent many hours on uk-microrc (or c0sies forum) chopsing back at everybody who gave you negative comments.

Semms to me that your an attention seeker who enjoys the drama of it all. Maybe get a life......

I just refuse to track crap from people, had enough of it allready, so, if you've not any positive to say, best thing is generally not to say anything.

Sarah,

Ill say this once and once only...and in the public domain so that it is on record.

I have deliberately not replied to any of your posts/rants/threads in ages for a reason. I do not come here or onto the micro forum (or any forum for that matter) and say that you can shove your Shark where the sun doesnt shine, yet you feel the need to say that about me.

If that continues I will take matters further as I do not appreciate your personal attacks on my charector.

I do not like you, that is true, but then im not going to like everyone I meet....however I keep my feelings at a "I dont like her" level, and certainly dont go around telling people that "she can shove her thingy up her whatsit".

If it doesnt stop then I will stop you.

We have a wheelchair user racing at Wycombe twice a week (every Saturday and every Monday evening) and it takes 3 guys less than 10 seconds to lift him up a set of steps and down again at the end of the evening. This has been done for years and years, never a problem.

At Swansea there were only 1 straight set of 8 steps, you had 50+ guys there that could have helped, all you had to do was ask.

It's really starting to look like you are just out trying to cause hassle with some grudge to bear.

Frogger, Sam wouldn't have felt safe being helped in that way, and he's not the lightest person in the world either, besides, I don't know if I even have any friends left amongst the micro lot.

I don't have a grudge against anyone, but you've got to understand my situation, I've got people at my own club spreading the you-know-what about me, for no reason except their own bigotry, and they've done it in such a way, that's it's limited the available number of suspects to a handfull of people, now, it feels like that's happening again with other people, whether it is or not.

I have to say this as swansea is one of my most local clubs. Wether you are fiends or enemies with any of the club members there, they are all the sort of people who will drop anything they are doing to help a wheelchair bound person. As i would imagine all of the model car scene people would.
You only had to ask.

I asked one of the staff at the leisure centre about possibly getting sam in the fire door, as there was a ramp down to it, but then there we're 8 or so big stairs when you get inside. I asked Sam if he'd be okay to crawl up them but he didn't think he would be, and even if I'd asked people to help get Sam in, I know Sam wouldn't have been comfortable with that, as he gets quite nervous anyway, and anyone helping, could have ended up with an injury anyway. The staff said they'd be more than willing to help, but they could due to the usual health and safety stuff.

Frogger, I keep getting LB and Wycombe mixed up. The club that was on the nationals last year, but wasn't this year. Is that lift normally available to use, as I have trouble using stairs myself anyway. Just asking if I race there again.

Not all wheelchair users are the same size, or have the same mobility issues though. A ramped entrance in this case, would have been the only way Sam would have been able to get in the building. I'm the racer here, so I'm the one left dissapointed. Sam said for me to leave him in the car and go race, which I could have done, but it wouldn't have been fair on him to leave him there all that time.

If we go to Swansea again, then we'll just book two nights at the hotel, and Sam can play Warcraft or Star Wars online all day while I go race.

I just need to make clear that I in no way have a problem with the Swansea club or it's members, just in case anyone thought I might do.

sarah,i dont know you or ever met you.but reading this from afar,it seems like you are firing bullets in every direction.1-you keep getting club venues mixed up.2-your getting paranoid about people talking behind your back about you.3-you didnt bother to ask the venue if it was wheelchair friendly.4-telling people to stick there sharks up there ar5e.5-asking sam to crawl up a set of steps.6-take sam to a meeting miles away, then leave him in a room on his own,to play on warcraft all day.7-somebody should have let YOU know that the venue had no ramps!you seriously need to get a grip on yourself.if rc-ing or the people in it are annoying you/p1ssing you off, maybe its time you left the sport.as i see it you dont seem to enjoy much about it right now,and you always want to vent your anger on others.it does not take a mind reader to know if cosie had been there,in striking distance,he would have got a peice of your mind.cosie and the others seem to be doing a sterling job running the micro section.(p.s. before you say anything,i dont know cosie or ever met him,or the others.) hope you can read this reply in a positive way.many regards-espana.

1. I got LB and Wycombe mixed up as they're almost the same journey for me, but I've now been to both.

2. I know people have been talking about me, maybe not the micro people, but I know people have, trust me on this, there are some very specific things here, and some very small minded people.

3. I forgot to ask if the venue was wheelchair friendly, it was changed from Cardiff to Swansea. I didn't expect anyone to tell me if it was or not, but there is more than just me to consider here.

4. I was simply saying that I didn't give a monkey about a certain person's opinion of me.

People will end up pissing me off, and I will end up pissing other people off, that's life. I enjoy my racing, although I have absolutely no luck with micros so far.

I don't know what Cosie's problem is with me. The reasons he's given really don't seem to hold much water, but I really don't care anymore, it's just not worth it.

This is ace. I wonder if sldmodels (whoever she is) is aware of safeguarding vulnerable people?

If so very careful thought needs to be put into posts, because if anything happened to Sam whilst he was left alone all day in a hotel room whilst playing world of Warcraft then access to an RC car race would be the least of her concerns.

But hey, keep it up it's an entertaining read, and it's a sure way to increase sales at sldmodels. I mean who doesn't want to shop there after reading some of the opinions voiced here?

Sarah,

If you dont give a monkeys about my opinion of you, and dont know what my problem with you is...then please, for the love of god, stop putting my name into your posts.

YOU brought my name into this thread (post 4), not me.

I'm Sam's carer, I also have a life of my own to lead. I didn't leave him in the car all day, as he suggested, as that wouldn't be fair on him. If he stayed in the hotel in future, I'm a phonecall away, it wouldn't be the first time I've missed a race as Sam needed me for something.

As for my shop, you can choose to buy from me or someone else, it's already suffered as a result of the nasty attitudes of some people towards me, but I've never ran the shop to make money, only because it's my hobby and I was trying to put something back into it.
