Thumbs up Spring break to the UK! Where to go?

So my dad wants to take my family to England on my spring break from college (it's March 13-21). I was wondering if there are any places I should stop by?

Are 75Mhz radios legal? If not, I won't be running any cars...

only 27mhz, 40 mhz and 2.4ghz are legal over here, so no racing for you...

As to where to visit, I think everywhere is equally shit in march. Do your self a favour and go to Florida!

It'll probably be snowing again, usually does at that time of year.

Good thing I like snow!

I was thinking about switching to 2.4 soon, more incentive to do so. Are there any indoor tracks near London?

EDIT>
wait, i'd need a power adapter to charge batteries... Is the UK 220v or 120v?

So there is a track near London?

I think that's probably where we'd be staying, close to the airport.

EDIT>>

Nevermind, I just checked my radio and it turns out I cannot convert it to 2.4, and a new radio is out of the question.

Theres nothing actually in London but closeish by there is South Ockenden on Fridays, Faversham on wednesdays I think, and Proline Dirt Arena also on wednesdays about 1hour 30 from london but well worth the effort. Theres DMS in watford too on thursdays I think they run alternate touring cars on week offroad the next.

Depending on how old you are why don't you consider not spending spring break in England and going somewhere warm and full of scantilly clad women?

And as if I wouldn't stand out enough, my car will probably be the only one with non-shumacher tires!

Thats two of our specialities

If you find out where you will be you can check for local clubs via the BRCA website. You may be able to borrow a car from the club, our's has one that can be used for newcomers to the hobby.

A LiPo might turn pretty colors on the xray screen, and they might open my bag. But then they'll see my Dad's Executive Platinum AA card and we'll be on our way.

The YORRC club looks awesome!!

Anybody know of a base setup for 4wd? I'd be running an Academy SB V2. Im thinking 25-30 wt. oil and associated green front springs silver rear?

You should be fine bringing your lipo's, when I went to Florida in 08 I just packed them in the suitcase and didn't have any trouble

Come say hello if you visit the York club

Cars, radios, tools and batteries generally don't raise any problems when checked in as luggage. Tempting as it may seem, I'd advise against trying to bring the car as carry-on, as that tactic could go horribly wrong if the inspector doesn't like the idea of the sharp metal parts.

If someone will lend you a radio set - cool! However, be aware that most UK drivers use sticks. Otherwise, jumping on the 'bay and kitting yourself up with some 27mhz gear is cheap and legal anywhere you go. 2.4 would be the best solution though...

You'll have a great trip!

Cheers,
Ty (displaced Californian)
