Didn't race today, but popped down for a bit of practice at our local track
Found the Cat SX oversteering on corner exit and generaly twitchy on the front end. The rear end would come round way too easily The rear end seemed to bounce when on the power going down the straight. My thoughts at the moment are: Drop from 30w in the rear to 27.5 Got 32.5w in the front at the moment leave that as is. Change the castor from 7.5 back to 12.5 or kit cut down. Change from an 81 spur to an 83 to loose some of the punch with the V3 6.5 Am I along the right lines? Track was wet astro turf and very cold outside (hence the lower oil) Ballistic green mini pins were the tyres. |

Have to say if you tried BB pink mini pins on then you would have a lot of rear grip. Trouble is they do not last long!

The brca wet tyre is ballistic buggy green spikes

That's what I thought as tempted to try these.
It's a set-up issue rather than tyre issue I believe. |

If not changing tyre then you might want to try more toe in on the rear. You will loose some steering but the rear will want to straighten up quicker. I use this on the X-6 a lot going from 3 to 4 degree when it gets slippery.

Think I'm already running a fair amount 3.25 (0.5 on the front 3mm) on the rear

Go all the way to 4 degrees and also lower the rates on the springs as well as the oils you have stated should get you more grip. It also helps in the wet to raise the weight of the car.

Car has about 100g of lead strapped to the bottom already. Got blue springs on the front and red on the rear at the mo. So that'll be grey on the front and yellow on the rear. Yellows are way too soft in my opinion Unless I just wait for a dry track in the spring ... ! (not) |

The other thing to also try is tyres with a softer insert than you normally run.

Cheers, but that's for a high grip track, wet astro turf isn't high grip.

I run mini pins in the wet, but apparently ballistic spikes work well in the wet.
Turnbuckles are longest in order to calm the steering down. Think the prob is the oil in the rear. Ran inner hole on the wishbone with shocks on front and then the rear the fdr I have at the mo is working the slipper too hard I feel. The RW spurs are working better as the heat I know would have killed a Schumacher one. Rest of the setup is grant's from epr. Initial turn in was great but err then went to crap |

the BRCA do not specify a tyre, the club does. depending on the type of astro, wet astro can be higher grip than dry, damp astro on the other hand is like a skating ring

Got one STD edition in the garage and hate it. Just can't fall in love with it.
Cat just feels so much better quality. Mate is going ti test the yokomo in a few weeks. |

You say this as per grants set up from EPR. As far as I can remember grant runs 40Wt in the front, and 30 or 35wt in the rear. If you have 32.5 in the front, and 30Wt in the rear why have you dropped the front oil down so much?
In cold conditions I would recomend, dropping down 2.5/5wt in all round just to keep the balance the same. Also going to the 12.5deg front block from the 7.5 will give you more mid corner, exit steering. I run a 6.5 with the 40C cells, (plenty enough) and run 24/83.
