The pin that goes through my cdv keeps coming loose and is now halfway out after a 5 minute race. I have thradlocked the grub screw in and puched the pin back in but it still comes loose. Does anyone know why it will be coming out or how to resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance, Ryan

I had a similar problem with an Xray 009 so I slipped on some heatshrink over the joint so the pin can't "escape".....

Easiest fix is once the grub screw is locktighted in place, put a small bit of heatshrink over the top of the joint including the pin so it cant back out

try taking the grub screw out and get a plat file and file the bottom flat, then make sure you use a proper tool and not just a crappy allen key,i also find if the joint is dry it works the pin out as the whole thing moves and not the two parts

If you put heat shrink over make sure you still check the grub screw every so often so that you know it is tight or you drive shafts will move.

Or you can fit the new C-CVD bones from MIP that have the locking threaded ring and no grub screw to worry about....

How about the possibility of worn parts? I've seen many an egg-shaped hole. M.I.P. sells a rebuild kit that's not too expensive. Darren probably knows the number.

I have the same problem, only ever on the right hand side. Just replaced both cvd's and got the problem again. However, gone down the heat shrink route and it seems to do the trick.

Personally, I very slightly dremel a flat spot on the pin (slightly, so it doesn't weaken the pin substantially), right in the middle, for the grub screw to fall flat onto. that and threadlock the grub screw. I've never had one come appart on my B4 or B44. But the heatshrink trick will certainly help too...

Get a decent wrench so you can tighten it properly! never treadlocked mine, just firmly screwed them in with my Hudy.
