Default Silverstone track

Never been round Silverstone before so wheres the best place to watch the racing? Obviously it has to be within spitting distance of a big screen to watch the rest of the race. Can you only watch from the grandstands or can you walk around and stop where ever you like? Thinking of coming down to watch the motogp there next year so was going to book early.

You can walk right around the track but cannot see much other than from the grandstands due to high walls, fences and mainly people.

Best place to watch from is the North grandstands as there is a series of s-bends along with a nice long straight leading away from you.

Loads of great places to watch, depends what you're watching and what you want to see and which circuit configuration.

Start the Lap on pit Straight and Copse is turn one, fla out 90 degree right hander. You can watch from inside or outside, outside probably better.

Down a short chute to Maggots/Beckets/Chapel which is a series of corner where the cars come steaming in fast but each corner is progressively slower. Prop see a bit more from the outside there.

Down the Hanger straight where you'll see maximum speed before the car brake for Stowe Which tightens on exit. Normally a few overtakes there.

Bridge is good from the inside or outside and then you have the complex to finish the lap. You can watch from the outside of Luffield and you have a good view of Priory/Brooklands/luffield/Woodcote which are all quite slow so the cars are infront of you for 10-15 seconds. There are concrete bleachers there too. You can't go inside there because of the BRCA clubhouse and corparate boxes.

[Silverstone] Click on circuit info and it will show you the track layout they are using for next year.

I was originally thinking about the woodcote grandstand as you might get a good view over the last section of the lap and along the pit straight. Should be good for the last do or die move before the line but it depends how much the clubhouse you mentioned will obscure the view.
