Spend a few hours routing wires tidy ready to start our indoor season at the ludlow club. I haven't done any setting up yet and still need to get my tyres and a new shell sorted, but thought I'd post some pics anyway

shuy green mini spikes I think. they came on the car and work well on dry grass. when the dew starts to fall I popped bb pinks on the back which gave it a lot of rear end grip so sorted the breakaway issue

Yeah I only got these cells a week ago so yet to try them in the B44. didn't really get a chance to try them in the SC10 as I kept breaking down. It's wet today so indoors will be the next chance next tuesday. |

Lipo with a brushed setup?
![]() Id imagine he has to cut the comm every few runs. It should be ok though just have a temp gun handy. ![]() Our indoor season starts either this month or next. We run Pink Taper Slicks, not Schumacher mini spikes.

I used Brushed in my CAT SX for ages with Lipo and the motor was fine. Never strook me as getting that hot to be bothered about, Plus detiriation of perfomance or looks on the comm didnt seem any different from using NIMH cells either..

its easier to put the speedo on the right hand side but most people put it on the left to keep the car balanced. Try lifting it up in the centre in both positions, you'll see the difference

Lee and Neil had theirs the same as mine so I guessed they must be doing something right. I had it all down the 1 side with a GTB + 6.5 and it ran ok then. I have no jumps indoors mind.
I weighed it with the PT by the motor and the receiver between the speedo and cells. nimh's at the time and it was within 5g of eachother. tempted to get 4 cheapo digital scales from HK off ebay and get it spot on |

Good news is that the stock aerial holder works just fine in this position. You have to open up one of the holes to 4-40, but it's soft plastic so this is no big deal. |

I used the original .050 screws through the same hole and it seems to work ok

My b44 ran well on the 1st night indoors. The yellow mini pins felt horrible in the practice, but really started to work well in the final. I was less sideways than everyone who had a 1 way diff, but still managed to qualify and finish 4th in the A final

Gareth,
If you can find a set of part worn mini spikes give them a try fella. I tried mini pins at Ludlow on my B44 before and struggled loads and loads, but then Wez made it look so easy ![]() I think Ludders does lend itself well to running a oneway, especially as there isnt that much that you have to brake for ![]()

yeah. I found going into the hairpin at the end of the straight a doddle, but once I'd lost my speed I had very little 'on power' steering. this was helped a bit by remove the toe in we had added when outdoors.
There's a 1 way centre piece from a bj4 on it's way. do you know if this is a straight fit on the b44? suppose I should of found that out before I bought it lol (only £4 on ebay) I'm running 40/35 oil with silver/green springs and you can see how much the front dives when I'm on the brakes and I do have a lot of brakes with my setup. |

Ive NEVER heard of a centre oneway for the B44. The centre oneway for that BJ4 could be on the shaft before the BJ4 went with the split cells? In that case it wouldnt work on the B44.
Always run either zero toe on the front or toe out. Toe in is bad, no matter what anyone tells you!! Have you tried changing the ackerman position on the steering draglink?

haven't tried much really. 1st night an' all. will be playing with settings soon. changing the ackerman was an idea I'd had though.
I'm thinking the 1 way bit will work. just need to mount it on the centre shaft. if it's too big I'll lathe is down to size on a spare shaft. might end up with 2 centre units so I can easily swap them over in a minute. |
