Hi all, i'm running my BX with the one piece chassis and Bradders rear shock mount but i'm having difficulty indoors with rear grip. The shocks are kit Yoke with Associated No.1 pistons and black springs. I have tried the different Yokomo springs but reverted back the the black. I raced last night, the track is carpet and shiny floor, the rear end was much more stable but still not quite right. I currently have 30wt oil in but have tried 25.
Any help appreciated, Neil. |

Hey Neil,
It really is hard to get help with this car eh, especially when you are one of three people in your country with one, as is my case. You are probably more qualified than I to answer, but as you asked for help here goes: Question is, where is it loose? Initial turn in: more angle in rear camber link or less in front Mid corner: Longer rear link or shorter front, less internal spacers in rear shocks, more in front Exit: Not really sure, usually on power so try... On power: Less anti squat in rear, worse jumping though Overall: Different Tyre Pattern/compound/Insert; Softer rear spring; Move top of shock out if loose during cornering on smooth track, or inwards if the rear is thrown up and loose over bumps; also more toe in if you are running 0.5 degree hubs go back to standard. Hope that helps a little! Also make sure it is not the front hooking the rear around, else you would do better to lose some front grip if you have plenty of steering, rather than working on the rear. Cutting outer row of tyre spikes does this, or different tyres. |

Are you running the longer rear shafts to match the taller rear tower?
If not, then lack of rear droop probably not helping. |

Neil
I posted something like this a while a go on racechat about my touring car. Anyway, after going through my setup etc... it got on to a discussion about getting the balance of the car right. So, I ended up leaving the rear of the car alone and adjusting the front end. By removing some of the front end grip it made the car much more balanced and easier to drive. Just a thought….. Brett |

What shafts are you running with the shock tower modification? I just ordered the shock towers, but I was not sure how much longer the shafts need to be.

RC Champ in Japan, i ordered some bits on Thursday and they arrived today.
Email [email protected] and put it FAO Masa, BX parts. Masa speaks perfect English and is mega helpful plus you won't get the parts cheaper anywhere else. |
