Default DF03 hop-up shocks

Right, had mine off today, as I have been building a 3Rwacing conversion, so I thought, I would try the touring car TRF pistons, and you know what, they fit!!!

smaller holes, much MUCh better pack, they no longer allow the car to react like a pogo stick and can use decent oil (like 35wt) and not 60wt.

If anything, these might just need drilling out just a smidging.

got some parts numbers steve? I found even the hop up shocks to be poor compared to B4 shocks just because of the pistons.

i have changed over to associated shocks and they seem a lot better for overall handling, blue springs front, silver on rear, seemed pointless spendind x amount of pounds on tamiya ones when i had these lying round doing nothing

Yeah, can't go wrong with those - plus they mount up at the front wishbones better! Can't understand that sloppy brass bushing thing..

Are those pistons in a range of hole sizes or just one size? how many in a pack?

The 501X pistons are top-banana, but too thick

they are three hole and two hole, 4 pistons in each pack, the holes look to be about .7 or .8mm so if need be, you could drill them out a little, but I am going to try two hole in the front, three in the rear.

DCM,

I just bought the same pistions as listed above, and intend to try the 2 hole up front and 3 hole out back...what weight oil did you find to work best with that setup?

Sweet!

About the oils, I only have access to 4 different brands...Yokomo 100% silicone shock oil, HPI 100% silicone shock oil, Tamiya shock oil, and AE Factory Team silicone oil...

Which would you choose?

I remember back in the day the AE stuff was awesome, but I also remember it saying 100% silicone on the bottle. The AE factory Team oil they have here just says "special blend" silicone...

Out of all the ones I have access to, which should I go with?
