I have some TrakPower 3200mah saddles (waiting on a potential customer, but you can have 2nd dibs).

Why don't these saddles fit? I'm fairly sure I've seen these in a 501X

Sorry this is a little OT, but it is meant to be helpful! Hope this doesn't count as 'messing about with the bars'!

Have you thought about using velcro tape?

I'm picturing a way to extend the height of the battery bars without cutting or drilling any part of the existing car - if you can find a metal tube that sleeves the battery posts snugly, cut two short lengths, run two short screws through the battery bar holes into the short tube lengths, threadlock them into the tubes if necessary, slot the bars with attached tubes over the existing posts, work out where the clips go through, take the assembly off again, and drill through the tubes to match. Instead of screws, you could use metal rods the same diamter as the battery posts.

It's just occurred to me that you could drill multiple holes to fit whatever batteries reside in your collection.

It should be easy enough to make extra battery bars out of sheets of G10 epoxy glass, too, if you use different battery sizes.

I think he's looking for saddle lipos - the 501X at least uses saddles (though a slender stick lipo will fit, not the 4900mah, though).
