Question motor/electronic advice - new B44

Ive been away from racing for 15 years. Ive been to a local club and talking to the guys there I see a lot has moved on !!

Im looking into a B44 (although the Cats I do like, but sounds like issues with belt driven system is not what I need).

Basically can anyone point me to what I need for a standard setup with regards to : engine, battery, speed controller etc?

The engines have all changed since I last raced, speed controllers are now all electronic and im not sure what spec, type, model, specifications I should be looking for.

Basically im interested in the B44 kit - but after that not sure where to go.

Apologies if its a 'wide-area' question... any help very much appreciated.

OK, to get you started on the brushless track try EZ-RUN on fleabay... good value for money 'n they are motor/speedo in one package... @£40-£50... IMO after that you've got speed passion then LRP/nosram, next step into Novak etc and from then on the sky's the limit... the speedo's are usually rated in amps... the higher the better!

Find out what they run B44's on at your club... my local has Bl motors from 10.5 down to 4.5 (which are V. quick!) on their b44's... I run a B4 (2WD) on 7.4v lipo and Novak GTB speedo c/w 10.5 Novak motor (which is quick enough for me!)

lipo wise, look for hard cased packs like Core/Demon/Orion etc others are out there and could be good value for money but I don't have much experience with 'em...

As for set-up ideas, check associated website for other drivers set-up sheets... but the instruction manual will give you basic settings for an all-round set-up...

So whatever you choose have fun and keep the credit card handy...
