Dirtz Dialed Partz 023 Transmission Brace works best with the X - 6 Squared and X - 60. If you have ever wondered what the two counter-sunk holes in the battery strap are for, now you know.
I don't know if you could put a tranny brace on an original X - 6 or not -- we've never looked at it. With our standard #1222 battery strap, you would have to see where the aluminum bracket falls on the strap to know if it would fit. But after that, the original #1222 is held rather loosely onto three posts with body clips and would not provide the secure mount the tranny brace needs. If you have one of the aftermarket CF straps, and if it is securely screwed down on secure posts, and if the aluminum bracket winds up in a place where you can drill and counter-sink the two holes, then the DDP023 will be a great addition to your original X - 6, and we reccommend it. Somebody surely will ask, so I'll answer: It only fits the 4-Gear. |

what benefit does this new tranny brace give??? Why is it needed??? I have one of the blue alloy motor plate T braces so how much flex can there still be?? and if there is still alot of flex then isn't a chassis design floor that should have been rectified in the X6 squared chassis???

Not every option that we release is to cure a "flaw", they are for tuning, optional adjustments if you like.
Take the axles you have already mentioned elsewhere, they are for use on tracks with more bumps where more droop is required, on flat(er) tracks they are not needed. This tranny brace is used when we feel a "stiif" set up is required when grip is already good, when grip is low, we require the flex the chassis naturally generates and we run without the brace. You can take rigidity on or off with an additional brace you canot if it is permanantly added to the chassis with ribbing etc, if you did remove extra ribbing you cannot simply add it back on whereas with a screw on brace you can add or subtract to your own tuning desire. We develop and design these parts to help optimize our buggy for all possabilities, some parts get used more than others in certain parts of the globe. Take the E Speed camber links for instance, we use them here in the UK on almost every surface and set up we run, yet in the states on the slick dirt they rarely use them at all. But my point is they are there "IF" they are needed and can be left out or removed if not, not a flaw if that camber position is not on the kit as standard just an extra two positions created for our high grip style european grass/astro tracks The E Speed motor brace is for up and down movement of the motor plate, this DDP Chassis brace is for flex from front to rear of the chassis, two totally different things.....

I guess it is does a similar thing to changing the chassis from plastic to graphite on a B4, but with much less hassle.
I love the fact that the X-6 mods are just fine tuning tweaks, the car straight out of the box works fantastically well, we have several X-6 and X-6^2 at my local club and they range from box stock to fully hopped up and any one of them is capable of winning the A |

Brian is an amazing guy. When you remember that Brian is one of the few full-time professionals with no other job, you'll understand that nothing, and I do mean nothing on his cars is dead stock. Brian polishes, files, sands, Dremels, does something to every single part on his cars. And, as is well-known, he uses parts from everywhere and everything. When Brian can't find a part someplace that does what he wants, he makes his own.
This goes for Ellis too, although Big E holds a full-time job. We love it, because both Brian and Ellis keep us out in front of the cutting edge and produces lots of cool stuph. You can just bolt on the best of their thinking. So, to answer the question, I have no idea what spur gear it is, but likely something from X Ray. |

It's an Xray spur with the slipper pads glued onto it.

I had a look over dirtz car at the clash, i think you can safely say he's talented with a dremel! Pretty sure the spur gears an xray one from when he raced touring cars i think he said.

My guess would be reduced rotating weight - can't see any other reason.
These X Factory cars are getting rather tempting...... Graeme |
