Hi all,
Just recently got myself a B4, I usually race touring cars, so I have alot of radio kit etc to go in the B4. Now then, I have just shoe horned a pack of miy ib 4200 cels into the battery 'bay' and they are soooooo tight in there its silly.! Does eveyone else have this prob, or have i just got an excess of solder on my cells? Any advice/help on this matter is greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance.. the bald one.

My old 33's didnt used to fit as the batery bars had to much solder below them. Id advise to try and push them down as flush as possible, otherwise, you may have to hammer the bars flat and reassemble

never had aproblem with my ib 42's fitting.. try using flat battery bars, or simply bending your current ones in a vice (this is the method i do).

larger capacty cells are larger in physical size and weight, so you're gonna have to be real good with the solder iron. My 3700's were stupid tight until I realised that I can't solder worth a shit and got them sorted properly

I didnt think about the batt bars being slightly raised I guess am gonna have some work to do guys!

As Paul said, you can flatten your bars in a vice before building the pack, or if you get some of the Demon own brand bars, they are very low profile to start with, cheap too (£1.75 for 10)

Yep, Nick (Demon) built my cells using his own bars, they're narrow enough to fit in my B4 with a strip of chassis protector down either side and still have a bit of wiggle room
