Default Truck racing

Going to come to jarrow with my truck xxt, hopefully next week couple of questions..

1.would it handle on the slippy stuff or would it be a nightmare to drive
2.would anyone object if i raced it, ie if it was in with the buggy's
3. set up.. anyone got any tips

steve

I think it would be good to watch a truck round jarrow as long as it doesn't ride over all the cars LOL
It's basically just a 2wd buggy with big wheels ! Maybe consider putting putting normal wheels on it ? As not sure you will get truck ones to work ?

I would say get a big bumper on the front of it to barge those pesky buggy's out of the way

Tyres would be the biggest issue, the big truck tyres might displace the weight to much and you wont get very much grip from them, unless you got something like a minipin tyre to fit. If normal buggy wheels fitted I would have a go with them running minipin/minispikes.

I do have a set of very soft minipins

I'm not sure about Jarrow but at York mini spike rear and stagger rib fronts are a good balance on the carpet and polished BUT only when the rears are run in a little i.e. the edge of the spike roubded off. First 2 runs will be a handfull on any polished floor though perfect on carpet.

I dont fancy a big daft truck riding over my new car. Do you know how much i have spent on it. Wait until a touring car decides to try and race oa Jarrow. Then you can go for it.

chris it has to catch you first !
So wants the clubs opinion on letting a truck in with the buggys ? To me it's just a buggy with big wheels ! It's just a xxxcr
It's not like it's going to beat the buggies ?
Bet it can jump well !
Is it brushless ?

as I've always said I won't turn anyone away who wants to race and chris I'll fetch my T4 and make sure your in my heat.

If enough 2wd and trucks turn up they can have there own heat should be fairly evenly matched.

No more comments here apart from why cant we stick to racing 1 class?? Buggies?? We will end up having 15 different races with 2 people in each race. Do whatever you want and remember that this is a forum that allows you to post whatever you want to say(in reason)

Now haway chris thats a bit harsh, a truck is just just like a buggy just with bigger wheels, let him race, he might accually beat you!

Any way i dont mind who races wot as long as its not zzzzzzzz cars, oh 'and that am in the top heat'

trucks run at york fine with no problems! I'm sure it won't break your shiny new car, they arn't buch bigger than a buggy tbh and it's easy enough to keep away from them/get past them, your going to break/scratch/dirty your shiny new car up sooner or later anyway haha Thats what offroad is all about Having a truck class start at your club would boost your clubs funds and size too if its get popular, one or two run fine along with 2wd too thats what we've done at york atmo with no breakages or anything!

As long as we have jumps then buggys will be the fastest cars around the track ! ie no Touring cars !
Trucks will not be as quick as a 4WD and probs not as quick as a 2wd buggy
So theres no advantage to having a Truck ! so there should be no problem
I think they will be great fun to drive and Jump

If someone has a car they want to race, that is suitable for the tracks we build, who are we to tell them you can't race that go and spend £xxx on a buggy.

Peter. I have only commented on somebodys post. It was my opinion. I worry that we will end up with loads of different kinds of cars and only 2 people in each heat. I think the trucks look ok tbh. Im getting fed up of this car racing banter. Maybe i shouldnt read this forum anymore regarding our club.

The reason why i objected is because i fear we will get into a situation where we will have 7 heats with 2 cars each heat. You dont know the debates i have had with people regarding this. I have no problems with Trucks coming as they can be in a heat with the 2WDs as there are a few now. As for Off road not liking on road drivers, thats crap. I think on road is crap and boring but have many friends that race on road, both now and in the past.
Get yourself there on Tuesday night and get more laps in than me. It wont be hard.

See you Thursday. Thought you didnt like Buggies anyway.Thats why you stopped turning up on Tuesdays at Jarrow. Joining the revolution again?
