I built up a center one way pulley. It means you can keep the diff in the front. It works very well.
Plus there appears to be some adjustment on the 'slip'. The tighter the nut the harder it is to slip. There is about 1/8 of a turn from free to locked. ![]() |

Ooh, is it like the yok where you can choose whether to lock it or have it as a oneway?

I can see through my One-Way packaging, it says "Please use together with item 54018 DB01 Slipper Clutch Set...
If I want a seperate Center One-Way, I would need to purchase the Slipper Clutch Set and it would fit my 501X?

Well, that's what I was asking, but now that I think about it, I do not think I will buy the extra Slipper Clutch Set, in order to get new slipper plates, shaft, etc. I'll just disassemble my current center assembly and get this center one-way built.
Anyway, has anyone been consistently using the center one-way yet? Our indoor off-road season starts this week, so I'll be driving my 501 at least once a week until March!

I noticed this when I put my C.O.W in, At first I thought I'd put it together wrong but its fine. It deffo looks like an adjuster because of the use of fibre washers either side of the pulley instead of plastic or metal.

Because the front wheels can 'free-wheel' in a forward direction, they have the ability to spin faster than the motor can turn them. This allows the outer wheel to turn faster through a corner (better traction) and the front wheels to spin faster on a landing (like a 2WD). You get the best of 4WD and 2WD. |
