Default Tiverton timing issues

Yesterday I had issues with my transponder not counting properly, and I was fortunate enough to be allowed for the missing laps to be reinstated. I have noticed that it appears that Chris suffered a similar problem the previous week, and again it appears that his laps were reinstated.

My first question is is this a common problem that people are suffering from? Or is it one or two isolated incidents?

Second I am seeking clarification as to what is the ruling on such incidents? Is it a case of "your transponder, your responsibility for it to count" in which case does that mean for every person who's laps are missed will not be reinstated, or if it is not a persistent problem will the laps be reinstated?

Thanks.

It seems very rare, we have had it happen a couple of times in the TC's but normally can be traced to a bad connection or some other problem. Is it a proper RC4 PT?

As far as laps being reinstated I understand that it is at the discretion of the official in charge. It is really up to you to make sure it is installed correctly and fully working. If your getting this happen a lot I suggest you borrow a club PT and see if it solves the problem.
