Well couldn't make it last night and just wondered how the new layout went - did everyone enjoy it?

Talking new layout

New layout felt good. Laps take a tiny bit longer, I think due to having much more air time! 4wd main final included danny, damo, mark and me (orange x ray) so no prizes form guessing who collected 4th! Another cracking nights racing though.

Shame you couldn't make it.

The track is brilliant.
Everyone seemed to love it.

The only issue were the rumble strips. The 4wds were bouncing off them nearly onto the straight, so we removed them.
It gives us the opportunity to move one of the jumps, so we'll expertiment on Tuesday night.

We are also now looking to get some Astro turf for part of the track.

Have to say, I thought the rumble strips were fine, yes you have to run a little more ride hight, but thats buggy racing. Was a little disappointed to see them taken out to be honest. The overall layout was good to drive and gave you something to think about. As for astro, southport use astro for there indoor meetings, the only thing is it needs to be really short pile, as you cant really sand it down indoors. But it would be cool if the track was astro.

Although not raced on the strips I have to agree with Mark that we're racing buggies not touring cars!

Can't wait to have a go it sounds great - perhaps put the rumble strip back in somewhere else - agree with Mark re ride heights

I really liked the rumble strips and now they are back!!

Rumblestrip.1 is now covered in carpet, so it's less harsh but still rumbley. (Technical term)
