Default x6 fitting brushless

Has anyone fitted an losi excelorin brushless into an x6?

On its side, on a plinth to lift it up or grind lots of the chassis away.

Its a tight fit whatever you do.

Any clues?

Im afraid you need to dremel the chassis. Put the speedo in so that the motor wires are facing the back of the car. Then you need to dremel the bit of the chassis behind the speedo where it divides the batterys from the speedo slot. You will probably need to dremel it half way down
Then it should shlip in If that made sense lol

Yep, I run one in mine and the way Ben has described is exactly how I fitted mine. I also cut away the circular mould injection "pillar" in the corner of that area too and the whole thing fits a treat, I fit the power cap at the end of the pack of cells (next to the last cell under the battey strap) on the pinion side of the car. Long sensor lead routes behind the servo (under the servo plate) round the back of the reciever, across the other side of the chassis besides the cells ( I have dremelled two circular cut outs for it to "lay in" here) and into the back of the motor. Looks really neat IMHO.

You cant see it very well but if you look at the back of the speedo you can see where it has been cut down

The following does not change our famous 50-50 guarantee on very fast lightweight race cars:

The brace in question is a lateral brace and the chassis is quite strong in that direction. Grinding off the top half of one lateral brace probably will change nothing. Longitudinal bracing is another matter...

What's the 50-50 guarantee? 50 feet or 50 seconds, whichever comes first!

I've no idea what Chazz means but I grind out the corner moulding riser and about 1/3 of the height of the bracing between speedo and cells so that my GTB tab sits slightly over the top. I then glue (super) a piece of lexan on the other side of the brace to 100% provide short circuit protection. It's all pretty neat, you wouldn't know unless you looked for it.

Well done Dan! I was a bit concerned about how close the cells were to the edge of the circuit board. I'll get out the clear plastic and glue.

Hi Keith, don't be tempted to grind the outer edge of the chassis as it will crack. You have to remove the circles (for lifting the mould) and then lower the lateral brace and protect from cell as mentioned.

I should have a chassis around thats had this done and not on the car, if you want pictures PM me with your email address. (providing I can find that chassis)

Hello Chris

I've done it way you suggest. We'll see if it stays together. I,ll have alook at your chassis next time I see you. Soon I hope.

What did you use to keep the speedo off the cells?

New xx4 and new B4, is it Christmas? She'll need to go away more often to come home to presents like that

Hi Keith, I do like Dan says - use a piece of lexan cut to the width of the cell slot, but about 1 inch tall so there is no chance of any sparks. It has worked faultlessly like that.

See you soon. When is Emily home?
