Default Battery and charger headache!

Yet another newbie with a battery question!

I think to be honest that I read too much, and thought too much about it that I have confused myself further!

I have just bought a dex 210 RTR and I intend to race the car indoors. I am willing to spend a reasonable amount for the right stuff.

It seems the pack type, shorty, stick, saddle is personal choice. Why would you have a saddle, so obviously 2 packs instead of a neat one single shorty or stick? And will my speed control be ready for whatever mah etc that I fit, or will it need adjusting?

So as I say, money aside, although not re mortgaging the house, can you recommend a popular set up please - although I guess this is personal choice again!

Thanks all.

I run saddles in my Dex210 because I also run a 4wd that can only take saddles so its easier to switch cells between cars.
neither speed control in either of my cars needed to be set for the mah of the cells I use and I have a couple of different ones.

If I had the money I'd like to try running a shorty lipo in my 210 as it apparently allows for a better weight distribution in terms of where the battery is placed especially with the +8mm chassis that you get on the rtr kits

Chris Doughty, one of the Durango team drivers uses shorty lipo's for this very reason.

in many cases the shorty packs can be quite expensive, but saddles can be sourced quite cheaply especially if your not bothered about BRCA approval
but if you intend to run at regionals or a club that is BRCA affiliated then you need cells approved by the BRCA
The 2013 approved lists can be found here http://www.brca.org/index.php?q=cont...-updates/14218
