spektrum binding problem

hi guys, the battery/bind port on my spektrum receiver isn't working and i was just wondering if I plug the bind plug into steering, throttle or auxiliary would it still bind.

i am not shore but it might be worth making a new bind plug as with my new spectrum set i got way back the plug was made with out the wire being stripped so didnt make a connection

easy to do use a old servo/esc plug and just join the signal and - wire togeather
